Why is Azure India South (Pune) the right region for my Magento store?

Microsoft Azure India South is physically located in Pune, one of three Azure India regions (Central = Pune, West = Mumbai, South = Chennai naming nuance: Microsoft brands the Pune region "Central India" in some docs, "India South" in others; check your subscription). For a Pune-based merchant, the practical wins are: (1) Sub-2ms latency from Hinjawadi / Kharadi / Magarpatta data-center commute to Azure-South, the cheapest, fastest Azure region in India for compute + storage + Redis Cache + Azure SQL. (2) RBI cross-border residency: payment data must stay in India under RBI 2018 storage rules, Azure-South ticks that box natively. (3) DPDP Act 2023 data-localisation: personal data of Indian principals can be processed locally without extra compliance overhead. (4) Adobe Commerce Cloud on Azure: if you’re on Adobe Commerce Cloud, Microsoft is the underlying IaaS for India deployments, Pune is where it physically sits. (5) Hyvä Cloud + Cloudways: both can deploy to Azure-South. We also do AWS Mumbai (ap-south-1) for clients who prefer Amazon, ~5ms from Pune, but Azure-South is the latency-winner for the Pune-region.
