Fleet B2B accounts, what’s the pricing-tier model?

Standard auto-parts B2B trade-account pattern, four tiers:

  • Tier 1, Walk-in trade (verified mechanic / shop, no contract): 10-15% off retail, COD or card-only.
  • Tier 2, Contract trade (signed dealer agreement, $5k+/mo spend commit): 20-30% off retail, Net-30 invoicing, dedicated account rep.
  • Tier 3, Fleet operator (rental, logistics, ride-share fleets, $25k+/mo): 30-40% off retail, Net-45, custom catalogs (only the parts that fit their fleet vehicles), dedicated account rep + on-site service rep.
  • Tier 4, Distributor / wholesaler (sub-distributors, $100k+/mo): 40-55% off retail, Net-60, drop-ship from manufacturer, EDI 850/810 integration.

Magento implementation: Adobe Commerce B2B Companies handles it natively (companies, hierarchical buyers, requisition lists, multi-step approval). On Open Source: customer-segment pricing + Aheadworks / Mageplaza B2B + Apruve / Resolve / TreviPay for Net-30 underwriting. Account-rep tooling: dedicated admin grid filtered by “assigned to me” rep_user_id, automatic alerts on order > threshold, commission tracking. Pattern that works: tier promotion is automatic by trailing-90-day spend, customers earn the next tier without renegotiation.
